Yesterday I attended my cousin's bridal shower. It was a ton of fun, and we got to drink lots of yummy teas and have some extra lovely cake. I made my cousin and her fiance two pictures. The theme was tulips, and the right side image shows a pink and blue tulip, which represents the coming together of the feminine and masculine. I like the dragon fly, and I made its wings out of velum and printed paper.
The pictures below show the image process. The first (top row on the left), is a digital scan of the two collages. The next two on the top row show the addition of clear jewels. I really like the sparkle. The two pictures on the bottom left have an increased shadow and highlight the "three-dimensional" quality of the image. The technique of layering paper really creates a thick and textural image. Lastly, the image on the bottom right, shows the pictures framed and matted. I really like the way they turned out and I hope Chris and Emily enjoy them. Congratulations you two!
