Although I have been super excited about working on my latest images, the progress has been quite slow. It has been fun working on my High Society Sea Woman, which can be viewed in the image to the right. I still need to finish the starfish and the ring of flowers that will be flowing across her back. The flowers will most likely be difficult to accomplish because there are a lot of little cuts and details involved in their production. It will be interesting to see how they turn out.
I am also debating on the starfish. The golden colors look nice (especially since they make the dark blue of the eyes pop), but wonder if they are too "tropical" looking. I may try a blue starfish and see how I like it. Color is fun, but it can be challenging to pick the right ones!
In addition to working on my latest prints, I also had the idea to try to decorate some plain white shoes I picked up at the store. I was so excited about the idea of decorating them, but now that I have the shoes I am scared I will mess them up, and have thus reached a stand still.
I have been sketching out ideas for the shoes, and I like this little doodle of a girl holding balloons. For some reason I think of her a being a French girl. I realize that is kind of random, but that is what it makes me think of. For the other shoe I sketched a tall boy holding heart balloons. I decided I didn't like using them as my idea for the shoes, but I thought I would share my little doodle nonetheless.
