As much as the thought of the wide open sea scares me, it can be a great subject and inspiration for art. I recently created a new work called, La Sirena, which according to my translating resources means mermaid in Spanish. I think that sirena, is a really beautiful word. It sounds so lovely!
It is a colorful piece, and I hope to add it to the shop soon as a new print. I am not sure if she is supposed to be a swimmer or a mermaid, but I will leave that up to you to decide.

This image was really fun to create, especially all of the really colorful fish. Every time I finshed one I would take it around my house introducing it to all of my family members. After a while, it was probably kind of annoying, but I thought it was fun. :)
I look forward to creating some more "nautical girls." My next image is going to be of a selkie. I have it drawn, so now all I need to do is turn it into a collage. I'll be sure to post it when it is done!
